Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

Hey folks,

The Dissolution Orphans was released today. It's available for sale anywhere you buy MP3's. If you're looking for the highest quality files, I'd recommend going to our Bandcamp page.

As described elsewhere, "The Dissolution Orphans" isn't an album in its own right. It's a history and a chance for the listener to trepan the skull of Zebulon Whatley and peer at the worms writhing within. This is a notebook, bound in flesh and penned in blood. The quality of the recordings varies greatly since they were never intended for public consumption. There are audio issues with some of the oldest recordings. Consider these hisses and pops the punctuation in this hellish volume.

I figured I should explain where the songs came from, so here we go.

1) The Shadow of the Undertaker: This is the full version of the Undertaker's theme from the animated film, The Backwater Gospel. I didn't have time to record it for the film, knowing it wouldn't have been used anyways. Simon Broke plays bass on this one.

2) A Different Gospel: This is an unused idea from The Backwater Gospel.

3) Psalm of Woe (Demo): This is a demo from Psalms for the Spiritually Dead.

5) The Trophy Wife: This song predates The Kingdom Is On Fire by a couple of years.

6) Escape!: This was recorded during the Trinity sessions. It was ultimately culled in my unsuccessful attempt at keeping the album from running too long. If memory serves, it was going to fall after Paying My Debts on that album.

7) Paying My Debts (Demo): This is the demo version of the song from Trinity. The lyrics are a bit different than the album version and I always thought it had more of a panicked sound to it, which suits the story.

8) Train Song: This is another unused song that I wrote for The Backwater Gospel.

9) Night Passage (Demo): This is the demo for the song from Trinity. The lyrics are a bit different than the album version.

11) Psalm of Withering (Demo): This is one of a few demos I recorded for this song. It's much less subdued than the album version.

12) Leave No Flowers On My Grave: I had intended to include this on The Kingdom Is On Fire, but felt it wasn't a good thematic fit.

13) Flambe: This was recorded sometime around The Kingdom Is On Fire.

14) Lenders in the Temple (Demo): This is the demo for the song from Trinity. It's a bit different musically, but isn't too much of a departure from the album version.

15) Nowhere: I recorded this as a one-off experiment. I never intended to do anything with it.

16) This Land is Cursed (Demo): This is the demo of the opening track from The Kingdom Is On Fire. I recorded it a year or two before I started working on the album. Sorry about the awful sound quality, but it is what it is.

17) In a Red Room: This bit of weirdness is part of a project that I haven't yet given up hope on completing. This was probably recorded between Psalms for the Spiritually Dead and Trinity.

Your detestable friend,
Zeb

For some reason, it isn't showing tracks 4 and 10, presumably because this website hates the word "desert" in song titles.

After a month I just realized you forgot to explain the origins of track 10, "Desert Wind". Love your music.
